scope_n_drop: Archangel's symbol splattered in blood (I'd rather be in Philadelphia.)

A nerd nitpicking a comic! How unique!

In the latest issue of the Mass Effect: Evolution comic, we finally get to see Palaven ...

Wow. It's pea-green and orange. Admittedly, it looks to be sunset, but on Virmire Garrus will say "this looks like where I grew up on Palaven :V!" Virmire looked like a rad place for a beach-volleyball tournament:

A space beach-volleyball tournament.

Anyway, the artist promptly forgot that female turians exist and couldn't be bothered to draw any of them in a crowd scene, but what's even weirder is that not a single turian has the same face tats that Garrus does. Presumably, in-game they've been plausibly avoiding this to make Garrus look more unique but it's kinda akward to introduce the "face tats = where you're from" into the lore and then never ever back it up (but they'll continue with 'Palaven is bombarded with radiation because it has no molten core.' This is dumb. It shouldn't have oceans, then. /pedantics).

ANYWAY this comic is still very dumb (in this issue TIM carries on full conversations with his huskified buddy) and it makes me apprehensive about Mac Walters heading up Mass Effect 3.

I can't speak to the color pallet, but it seems to me there are some cliffs just visible in the background? And if this is the capital city(?) in the comic then maybe there's some... less built up areas away from the center of things?

Yeah, what it comes down to is that there's not much to go on.

It's kind of a letdown. Even though the art and characterization in the Redemption comic was pretty dreadful, it did at least introduce Omega, which ended up being one of the major hubs in ME2. So far this comic has managed to show very little of important places before, but we haven't seen, like Arcturus Station or Palaven.

The optimist in me wants to say maybe they're saving it? But idk, with that sort of record I wouldn't want to comment to it.
