Not spamming CFO again ... yet

Holy shit guys look at that robot gestalt consciousness running on a unique hardware platform!

"Wow, Legion is in fact incredibly fucking awesome but it appears so late in the game that I feel like they would be hard to app!" you say, with a forlorn face. Don't worry, I youtube's got your back. Legion was intended to be recruitable much earlier in the game, and as such has a lot of voiced dialogue that goes unheard ... unless you edit them into your party:

And hey, unless you remember to leave a bunch of N7 missions for after the end of the game, it's likely that you didn't get to see Legion's full dialogue tree. Again, youtube to the rescue:

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a clip of when you take a renegade dialogue choice and call the geth angsty. Legion says "fortunately, the Creators did not program us to feel despair."

On top of that, D.C. Douglas, who voices Legion (and Albert Wesker, I might add) was kind enough to share Bioware's character specs in an interview:

“Speech Pattern: As part of a collectively intelligent race, it always refers to self as a plural -- “we” or “us.”Uses smooth, complete sentences with very subtle emotion, no accent. As an artificial intelligence, it has no emotions per se, but will feign them to ease interaction with its organic ship-mates. In combat situations, dialogue become clipped -- almost brusque. Legion is used to communicating in battle at the speed of light, and relying on low-bandwidth human speech wastes valuable time.

Demeanor: Detached, almost philosophical. Seems to hold everyday life at arm’s length, observing thoughtfully while thinking of deeper things. A “missionary among the savages.”

p.s. there's this:

So to sum up: its entire thought process runs on serious polls, it carries an anti-tank rifle, deploys killer disco balls, thinks that it's better than you, and dances the robot. Great AI or greatest AI?

I'd like to see Legion meet HK-47.

So obviously both need to be apped.

The result would be an extremely interesting philosophical firefight.

"They kept children here?" vs. "These facilities are inadequate."

I lol'd.

That is a great piece of editing, I lol'd as well.

I somehow find Legion adorable.

I DO TOO he's just very. Matter-of-fact. He reminds me a lot of Asimov robots, especially with the impartial and even cold view of the "Do Geth have a soul?" question. He's awesome in that he's just enough of a humanoid to give humans the impression of emotions without actually feeling them--feigning them for ease of conversation, as Douglas said--without sacrificing his alien or robotic qualities. That is talented freaking writing.

...why don't I have a strong enough computer to play this game

I really like what they did with the geth in Mass Effect 2. They're really alien, but at the same time you can kind of see them as a reflection of the people that created them. The hanar are also pretty weird and alien, as well, but you don't get to interact with any of them in Mass Effect 2, unfortunately.

You could always make a shopping list of recommended specs (http://pc.ign.com/articles/867/867011p1.html) and start hunting Fry's/woot.com/etc?

I upped the books and one of the comics not too long ago (http://community.livejournal.com/campersfuckoff/4057172.html). You can read the first one without having played any of the games at all, and thus far it's the only way to know anything about the batarians.

Why are you so good to me, Garrus? You can't be smart and cute without some sort of catch.

Thank you eeeeeee
